Strong to Severe Storms Possible Tuesday

There's a chance that severe weather will hit the D.C. area on Tuesday.

Storm Team4 will be in weather alert on Tuesday in anticipation of storms.

Chief Meteorologist Doug Kammerer says the risk of thunderstorms for the region is "enhanced" for Tuesday, which means severe storms are likely. But he says the more cloud cover we have, the less likely the chance for severe weather.

Any storms will probably pop up in the afternoon and evening hours as a cold front approaches the region.

The storms could bring some wind damage, hail and isolated flooding.

It will also be another hot day Tuesday, with temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90 and the heat index could reach about 100.
