Stormy Start to Labor Day Weekend; Will Clear Up by Sunday

A rainy beginning to the Labor Day weekend will brighten up to sunshine by Sunday afternoon.

Rain from Hurricane Harvey will move through Tennessee by Friday, reaching the D.C. area Saturday morning. Some showers could arrive as early as late Friday night, Storm Team4 Meteorologist Sheena Parveen said.

"Expect showers throughout the day on Saturday," Parveen said. "So this is not going to be a good beach day; not going to be a good pool day either."

Temperatures on Saturday could reach the low 70s.

But a stormy Saturday won't last too long, with Sunday seeing some clouds in the morning which will clear up by the afternoon.

The end of the Labor Day weekend on Monday will have sunshine and temperatures in the mid-80s.

"Your entire Labor Day weekend will not be seeing rain," Parveen said. "Just about the first day of it."
