Fairfax County police reported several road shut down due to water in the roadway.

Watch out for high standing or fast-moving water. The biggest concerns for flooding would be at or near creeks and streams, or low-lying spots in urban areas.

After some strong gusts of wind this evening, winds will subside somewhat after midnight. Around 4:30 p.m. Dulles resisted a gust today of 51 mph. Temperatures will fall into the 20s tonight as skies clear out.

By Friday morning, most areas will be in the mid to upper 20s. The wind will pick back up after sunrise and the rest of Friday will be partly to mostly cloudy, blustery and cold, with a passing flurry or two not out of the question. Highs on Friday will stay in the mid 30s to mid 40s, with wind chills in the low to mid 20s.

The wind will be far less of an issue this weekend. Saturday will be colder, with highs in the 30s, but we'll see more sunshine. Sunday will have more clouds, and a chance of a sprinkle or two, with highs in the mid to upper 40s.
