D.C. Residents Cool Off in Metrobus, Diner

Residents without power, find new ways to beat the heat

Metro is helping people beat the heat. The transit agency sent a Metrobus to southeast D.C. where the storm left people without power and air conditioning.

Some Anacostia residents cooled off in the bus.
 
Others cooled off at the American City Diner on Connecticut Avenue NW near the Chevy Chase circle stayed open overnight so people could keep cool.
 
Managers let people spend the night and charge their electronics.
