...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 AM TO 7 PM EST
* WHAT...Heavy mixed precipitation expected. Total snow
accumulations of 3 to 6 inches and ice accumulations of up to
one tenth of an inch are expected.
* WHERE...The District of Columbia and portions of central
Maryland and central and northern Virginia.
* WHEN...From 1 AM to 7 PM EST Wednesday. Snow will overspread the
area early Wednesday morning and mix with and change to sleet
and freezing rain during the late morning and midday hours
Wednesday. Precipitation will change to plain rain by Wednesday
evening. The heaviest snow is likely Wednesday morning.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening
commutes. The combined weight of snow, sleet and freezing rain
could result in downed branches and isolated power outages.
