4 things to know about the weather:
- Near perfect Tuesday
- Mild, 70s Wednesday
- Burst of rain Thursday PM
- Weekend still looks nice
Tuesday will be a big improvement over Monday.
Sunny skies, light winds and afternoon highs around 65° will make you want to spend some time outdoors. Skies will remain clear Tuesday night, and temperatures will drop to around 40° by Wednesday morning.

That chilly start will be replaced by a delightfully mild afternoon. Southeast winds will eventually bring clouds back into the region, but not before most of the area gets above 70°. This will be our last, best chance to get into the 70s for probably the next 10 days to two weeks.
A powerful storm is developing over the Great Plains Tuesday and Wednesday that will bring us a burst of rain Thursday and a blast of wind Friday. Thursday will start with cloudy skies and temperatures near 50°.
After rain, expect a cooldown into the weekend
There could be a few showers Thursday morning, but the highest rain chances will come from early in the afternoon until late in the evening. Rainfall amounts should be at least a quarter-inch to a half-inch just about everywhere, with some locations likely to get more than an inch. Severe storms are NOT expected, but the rain could be heavy at times, and the evening commute is likely to be a slow one.
That rain will be gone by sunrise Friday morning, and Friday afternoon will feel a lot like Monday: gusty northwest winds and temperatures hovering in the mid 50s.
As of now, the weekend still looks nice. Dry weather is expected both days. Saturday will start in the 30s and end up in the mid 60s. Sunday will start in the 40s, turn a bit cloudy, and reach the low 60s by the afternoon. Those clouds will deliver a high rain chance next Monday.
