Storms brought torrential downpours and triggered severe weather alerts in the D.C. area Monday.
A flood warning is in effect for parts of D.C. and Anne Arundel, Carroll, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties. The warning is in effect until 1 a.m.
As much as 4 inches of rain fell in some parts of the affected area, according to the National Weather Service.
A large tree crashed onto a 16Y bus just west of McPherson Square during the Monday evening rush hour. No one was injured, according to a WMATA spokesperson. The incident has the northbound lanes of 15th Street NW closed near K Street NW.
The Washington Nationals game against the Toronto Blue Jays, initially scheduled for tonight, was rescheduled for Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.
Between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., Montgomery County received an emergency call every two minutes, including several for lightning strikes.
In northwest D.C., a tree fell in the 6600 block of 16th Street, News4's Shomari Stone reported.

Periods of drenching rain caused flooding on local roads. A woman was rescued from a vehicle that got stuck in high water on Gue Road in Damascus, Maryland.

Any storms will dissipate tonight around midnight, but there may be a lingering shower for the morning commute Tuesday.
Tuesday will also be cooler, with highs in the low 70s.
