Weekend Metro Work on All 6 Rail Lines

Track work will affect trains on all six Metro lines this weekend.

Green Line trains will run every 24 minutes beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Metro said. They will be single-tracking between U Street and Fort Totten.

Starting at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, Red Line trains will be single-tracking in two zones: between Friendship Heights and Grosvenor, and between Forest Glen and Wheaton. Red Line trains will run between every 24 minutes, with extra trains running between Farragut North and Silver Spring between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Trains in that segment during those hours will run every 12-13 minutes.

Orange and Blue line trains will run every 20 minutes, starting at 7 a.m. Saturday. They will be single-tracking between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory.

Yellow Line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals between Huntington and Mount Vernon Square only, beginning at 10 p.m. Friday. Riders traveling to or from stations north of Mount Vernon Square should transfer to the Green Line train to complete their trips, Metro said.

Silver Line trains will run every 10 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only, starting at 7 a.m. Saturday. Riders traveling to or from other stations should use the Orange or Blue lines to complete their trip. At Ballston, riders can transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform, Metro said.
