Metro is trying to figure out why a Silver Line test train didn't perform properly and was eventually stopped by a derailer Tuesday near Wolf Trap, just east of the Wiehle-Reston East Station.
Test trains have been running along the new Silver Line since late last year.
This was the first problem of this sort.
A derailer is the final fail-safe to stop a train.
