Metro to Stay Open an Extra Hour as Daylight Saving Time Ends

Additionally, shuttle buses will replace trains in sections of the Blue and Orange lines

Brace yourselves for a time warp this weekend: Metro will be open an extra hour, but it might not seem that way.

On Sunday at 2 a.m., clocks will be turned back to 1 a.m. when Daylight Saving Time ends.

Metro will then stay open until 3 a.m. -- which will feel like 4 a.m. to us. Got that? Good.

That's not the only thing happening on Metro this weekend. Track work will affect Blue and Orange Line riders.

Two stations -- Rosslyn and Arlington Cemetery -- will be closed.

On the Orange Line, buses will replace trains between Foggy Bottom and Court House. Orange Line trains will operate in two segments: between Vienna and Court House, and between Foggy Bottom and New Carrollton,

On the Blue Line, buses will replace trains between Foggy Bottom and the Pentagon.

Blue Line trains will operate in two segments: between Franconia-Springfield and Mount Vernon Square, and between Foggy Bottom and Largo Town Center.

Free shuttle buses will run throughout the weekend; see stops and schedules
