Metro will close the Forest Glen station on the Red Line for an emergency response drill this weekend.
The exercise will take place Sunday morning, beginning at 7 a.m. and ending no later than 2 p.m., Metro said in a statement.
Emergency personnel will be practicing their responses to two scenarios: a smoke-and-fire incident in a tunnel outside Forest Glen and a suspicious package on a bus.
Metro says the exercise will test ventilation fan systems, as well as coordination and communication among emergency responders, rail operations staff and transit police. More than 100 emergency responders and volunteers are expected to participate in the exercise, the third of its kind this year.
