Arlington Memorial Bridge Closure Postponed

Drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians must use an alternative route during the weekend of Nov. 15-18

The Arlington Memorial Bridge will no longer close this weekend for repair work. It will close Nov. 15-18 instead.

Drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians must use an alternative route from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18.

This closure will allow workers to rehabilitate the south side of the bridge, where repair work has been ongoing since fall of 2018.

The closure was planned for this weekend, but it has been rescheduled. It will be a busy weekend in the D.C. area with the Nationals' World Series victory parade.

Once the bridge reopens, the lane configuration won't change, the National Park Service says. There will be one eastbound and one westbound lane and a reversible lane for rush hour traffic.

Look for the overhead signals to direct you to the correct lanes.
