A stretch of DC-295 has reopened after police activity, D.C. Police say.
DC-295, or the Anacostia Freeway, was closed in both directions from roughly Benning Road NE to Pennsylvania Avenue.
The D.C. Police Traffic Twitter page said I-295 northbound is blocked at Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue and southbound lanes are closed at Hayes Street NE.
Backups were reported. It's unclear why the road was closed.
