Biking for Autism at Oregon Ridge Park

An estimated one in 54 boys and one in 252 girls are diagnosed with autism in the United States. Help fund research to help those on the spectrum at the annual ROAR for Autism event

Grab a bike or just hike during this family-friendly festival at Oregon Ridge Park (13555 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, Md.), roughly an hour from D.C. The fundraiser, set for Sunday, April 29, raises funds for autism research at the Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Choose from several bike rides, including 25- and 50-mile routes. For the recreational and beginner riders, they offer a 5- and 10-mile cycle adventures. If you prefer to walk your way around the trails, go ahead --  the world is your oyster.

After your cycle or walk, take part in the festival at the park while you enjoy live music from DJ Kopec, and enter a raffle for your chance to win an iPad2. Tickets for the raffle are $5 each or three for $10.

Advance registration (before April 27) is $25; on-site registration is $30. Register by April 18 to receive a free T-shirt.
