Runway Strutting Comes to Tysons This Weekend

New York Fashion Week is just a fading echo on the fashion blogs at this point -- but D.C. is just getting started.

D.C. Fashion Week is running through Saturday (go here to read more about that), and from Sept. 22-24, Tysons Galleria will pack a week’s worth of fashion events into three days during its All Access: Fashion event.

Local fashionistas can mingle with style icons while viewing runway collections and shopping from some of the best finds the season offers.

All Access: Fashion kicks off with an invite-only fashion panel at the Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner on Thursday, moderated by Jennifer Barger of Fashion Washington.

Saks Fifth Avenue will present a red carpet runway presentation of the Fall 2011 Designer Evening Wear Collections at Center Court in Tysons Galleria on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Hosts include NBC4's Angie Goff, HOT99.5's Kelly Collis and Lynda Erkiletian, owner of T.H.E. Artist Agency and former castmember of "The Real Housewives of D.C."

You'll also find a silent auction and cocktail reception Friday night, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Saturday, Sept. 23 will include a full day of fashion starting at 9 a.m. with shopping, trunk shows, designer and celebrity appearances, and branded lounges and couture experiences all open to the public. Looks will come from 7 for All Mankind, Elle Tahari, Nicole Miller, Betsey Johnson and more.  A minimum of 10 percent of total sales from participating stores will also benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. (See the full schedule here.)

Past attendees have included Tim Gunn, Patricia Field and Philip Bloch, and some celeb appearances for this year are still forthcoming. So let go of NYFW already. Really. It'll be OK.
