Juicy Couture Gives Us the Bird

Juicy's new collection, Bird, to be uncaged in Georgetown

Juicy Couture, known for its Lite Brite color palette and distinctly Southern California flair, unveiled a dark, East Coast-style collection last week. Initial fall offerings from the new line, called Bird, comprise 30 luxe, urban-inspired pieces.

“The Bird line has come to fruition as our style has evolved. Every piece is something we’d love to wear right now,” says Juicy Couture co-founder and co-designer Pamela Skaist-Levy. “Bird is a different take on the Juicy girl. She is more like your well-traveled sister with the impeccably tailored wardrobe ... the closet you cannot help but raid.”

Bird is set to hit select Juicy stores in August. The Georgetown location (3034 M St. NW), which opened in spring 2008, will be one of only two stores on the east coast to carry the collection. (The other is New York. Go figure.)

Bird will deliver five times a year. Most items will fall in the $300 range, with outerwear up to $600 and knits closer to $150.
