Farmer's Market Makes Return Amidst Rainy Skies

Despite the rainy skies that have hovered over the Washington landscape this week, spring is -- believe it or not -- officially here, and what better way to celebrate the return of the warmer weather months then to drop by your favorite area farmer's market.

The H Street FreshFarm market opens Saturday at 9 a.m. and will feature two new vendors this season.  Loyal H St marketeers, no need to worry --  these two accompany all six of your favorite returning vendors.

For farmer's market freshmen, in addition to shopping for fresh, locally grown produce you can pick up freshly cut flowers, pastries, and fairly inexpensive dairy products.

The two new vendors, Garden Path Farm and Dolcezza Gelato, offer a fine selection of pasture-raised meats and delicious locally-made gelatos respectively.

Join the market next weekend as the Washington Mystics will be on hand to sign autographs, pose for pics and talk about the important of good nutrition and exercise.

The H Street FreshFarm Market is located on H St, NE between 6th and 7th Street.
