Where's DC's Sweet Tooth?

Sales of Girl Scout cookies are down this year, according to USA Today.

Pre-order sales are down 19% in some regions with people placing orders for fewer boxes. The Nation's Capital Council, in Northern Virginia, Washington and parts of Maryland, reports 5% fewer pre-sales.

Even though some of the boxes were downsized because of the rising costs of ingredients, it shouldn't be affecting sales. The Girl Scouts also haven't had to worry about the peanut-product recall because neither of their baking companies buys from the peanut plants involved, USA Today reported.
