Imagine that once a year, Etsy.com hops a BoltBus and showed up in Adams Morgan. Yeah, it's kind of gonna be like that this Saturday, Oct. 2. That's when CityPaper's annual smorgasboard of Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts festival happens.
Shop photographs, clothing (including items from bossanovababy, pictured), jewelry, accessories and home decor. All 100+ artists were specially invited to participate, selected by Garth Johnson of Extreme Craft, and items are appropriately fascinating/weird. Hip woodland creatures (i.e., owls and cartoonish fawns) feature prominently.
As they should.
The event (10 a.m.-5 p.m.) is free to attend at the Marie Reed Learning Center (2200 Champlain St. N.W.). Plan your attack on the shoppable delights with an interactive online map. And go early -- the first 2,500 visitors will be handsomely rewarded with a free Crafty Bastards tote bag.
