Booted Up: Footwear Finds at Shoefly

We're talking 40% off boots at U Street and in Arlington. No dreary department stores required.

In our dream world, there are no alarm clocks -- and plenty of parking spaces. Cheese fries are good for you. And you can snap up a pair of coveted Frye boots for around a hundred bucks.

Yeah, right.

Well, except for the Frye boots part. Right now, all boots are up to 40% off at Shoefly's U Street and Arlington locations, plus at its e-store, ShoeflyOnline.com. Campus Saddle Fryes are a foot (and a calf, and a heel) of gorgeous, thick tan leather, originally $280, now $112.

There's a lot more than Frye. The Confused and Abused cherry-red cowboy (er, cowgirl?) boots by Naughty Monkey are $84, down from $140. And Naughty Monkey's Forget Me Nots are unforgettable chocolate-brown boots belted in for the ride with red leather straps and buckles.

If you can't get out -- or don't want to, 'cause seriously, LOOK at the snow right now -- the online store is always open, but we suggest you hit up a boutique when you can because it's such a fun experience. It's not like wedging yourself into a carpet-covered chair at Nordstrom while you wait for someone, anyone, to give you one of those gross half-nylons (we know they're called Peds but we refuse to acknowledge their existence) to protect you from who-knows-what in those sample shoes.

Shoefly's stores are all about bright colors, funky vintage furniture, and awesome foot finds you just don't see every day. No dream world, just awesome shoes.
