How Low Can it Go?

Millions now chopped off asking price for one of Georgetown's most exclusive properties

The Evermay Estate has been on sale since October of 2008 -- and the price for the sprawling property is getting lower and lower.

Unfortunately, the mansion is still too pricey for most of us.  But if you have $29 million to spend, you could enjoy the Georgetown estate's 3.5 acres of gardens, trees, and scenic views.

We may not realize it, but the $29 million price tag is actually a bargain.  Originally listed at $49 million, the estate's price was slashed to $39.5 million before being cut again to the low, low price of $29.5 million.

We'll take two!

The historic mega home includes an elevator, nine bedrooms, 8.5 baths, two kitchens, a second master bedroom, a library, exercise room and game room ... just to name a few extra perks.

This property is truly fit for a queen.  In fact it was rumored that Oprah was interested in the estate back in December.  A spokesman for the media giant denied she ever had any interest in the estate, but a rumor like that can't hurt sales -- or can it?

(Hat tip to the great Georgetown blog The Georgetown Metropolitan for spotting the recent price drop first...)
