Wine and Dine at National Harbor

Finally, this waterfront space is used for SOMETHING

This weekend marks the second annual Food and Wine Festival at National Harbor. Throughout Saturday and Sunday, you can sample fare made by local chefs -- and even "Top Chefs," attend wine seminars and book signings, and enjoy the all-day live music and entertainment.

For those who like to eat (yeah, that's pretty much everyone), enjoy delectable dishes served up by local chefs Stanley Dukes, Timothy Dean, and Barton Seaver (of newly opened Blue Ridge Restaurant).

Meanwhile the "Top Chef" trio of Carla Hall (Alchemy Caterers), Spike Mendelsohn (Good Stuff Eatery) and Ariane Duarte (CulinAriane) will demonstrate some of their favorite summer meals.

Wash it all down at a Robert Mondavi wine seminar, or chill out with a Belgian brew in the Stella Artois Beer Café.

And don't worry about finding a babysitter this weekend. Pirate cruises, face painting, arts and crafts, and hands-on cooking demos are designed to appeal to all the little hooligans.

Finally, for all you Betty Crockers, register by this Thursday to enter your favorite recipe into The Country Fair cooking competition. Each product will be judged on its taste, texture, originality and visual appeal. The winners will take home big prizes, including a trip to the Grand Cayman Islands. We're guessing our, um, "recipe" for Easy Mac won't place.
