Unity Market: Revived, Renamed, Relocated

Unity Market Finds a New Home in Columbia Heights

Who says you need a permanent location to have a community? Unity Market -- formerly of Adams Morgan -- has found a new home, north of Columbia Heights, DCist reports.

It's found a new name too: International City Fair.

The market is a collective of Mexican and Salvadoran food vendors, who had set up shop for three years in an Adams Morgan park.

In September, though, the vendors' temporary legal agreement expired, and they had to leave -- because technically, it's illegal to sell food in a public park.

Vendors will now sell food, clothing and crafts in an empty parking lot at 3503 14th St. NW, just a short walk from the Columbia Heights Metro station.

The revived market is open daily except for Mondays, from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
