The second annual Hunger Is No Joke fundraiser, held at Cafe Asia's Party Loft (1550 Wilson Blvd., Arlington) gives each attendee two drink tickets, unlimited appetizers (8-10 p.m. and a raffle ticket, with music by Over the Line. The event benefits the Arlington Food Assistance Center. 8 p.m.-close; $35 for single ticket; $60 for two.

DJ Roger Sanchez, owner of Stealth Records, kicks off the weekend at Josephine (1008 Vermont Ave. NW). Sanchez has signed artists like Steve Angello, Laidback Luke and Avicii. Join one of the founding fathers of house music for a night of fun and great music. 10 p.m.; $20 cover.

NYC's Brown Girls Burlesque takes the stage at at the Red Palace with Soul Train vs. Solid Gold, a tribute to the two beloved music shows. DJ Natty Boom will be spinning sounds of the '70s and '80s. First show 8:30 p.m. doors; performance 9 p.m. Second show 10:30 p.m. doors; 11 p.m. show. $12 advance; $15 day-of.

The Fruit Bat (1236 H St. NE) turns into the Truck Stop starting this weekend, with the kitchen staffed by local food truck chefs. Enjoy your favorite street food while sitting! Plus, you get cocktails and beer, unlike (we assume) your typical mad dashes to food trucks in the lunch hour. 7 p.m.-2 a.m.

It's a double feature of awfulness, and the study of awfulness. Good times! Head to the AFI Silver Theatre (8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, Md.) for "Best Worst Movie," a documentary on the unexpected popularity of "Troll 2," voted on IMDB as the worst movie ever made. The documentary follows actor Michael Stephenson as he reunites the former cast and crew, and embraces his newfound cult fame. Following the documentary, you can watch the cult classic "Troll 2." 7.45 p.m.; $11.50.

Celeb chef Giada DeLaurentiis will join in a discussion with Bonnie Benwick, interim Food Editor at the Washington Post, greet fans and sign 1,000 copies of her new cookbook "Weeknights With Giada: Quick and Simple Recipes to Revamp Dinner" at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue (600 I St. NW). 7 p.m. doors; 8 p.m. event; $35 for one book and one ticket, or $45 for one book and two tickets. NOTE: Giada will also be signing books at noon at Sur La Table (1101 S. Joyce St., Arlington).

Eden (1716 I St. NW) wants you to party like it's 1999! This month's Saved By the '90s bash features host (and famed rapper) Coolio. Dress in your best '90s fashions as you dance to hits from Pearl Jam, Snoop Dog, Salt-n-Pepa and more. DJ Biks will bring the beats and as long as you bring your moves. 10 p.m.

Join one of the busiest people in entertainment today and the host of award-winning talk shows such as "Politically Incorrect" and HBO’s "Real Time with Bill Maher"... Bill Maher (as if you couldn't see that coming). He performs at the Strathmore (5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda). 8 p.m; $55 and up.

Whether you plan on participating in this year’s Cherry Blossom 10-Miler or prefer to watch from the sidelines, show your support for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Make sure you don’t plan on going anywhere between 7:30 and 10 a.m., though because more than six waves of 2,500 runners will be set to run. Overachievers.

Head on over to the final showing of Fin Kennedy’s Peter Brook Award-winning drama, "How to Disappear Completely and Never Be Found," at the Theater Alliance (1365 H St. NE). Kennedy’s piece follows the life of a man as he struggles to figure out his identity and discern reality in a world of holograms.
