Please Put Down the Box of Wine

The International Wine & Food Festival comes to the rescue.

If your idea of fine dining involves an ice cream sandwich and a box of wine, the International Wine & Food Festival is probably not for you. (Although we're sincerely impressed by your lack of shame.)

However! If you're a teensy bit more cultured (i.e., you gave up the Franzia years ago, you SWEAR), it's time to snag your tix to this massive event, Feb. 14-15 from 2-6 p.m.

More than 150 international wineries are bringing 600+ wines for you (you! you! you! don't you feel special?) to sample at the Ronald Reagan Building (1300 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W.). Unlike a lot of other wine events, you won't have to purchase separate tasting tickets here -- sample as much as you want. Uh, yeah… "sample." (Doesn't that make it sound like you WON'T have a hangover the next day?)

Through Feb. 13, you can get $10 off when you purchase admission online (normally $85 online; $95 at the door) with code DCNBC10. Tix are being sold in limited quantities to keep crowds down. So you can sip and swirl in peace. And remember: Monday's a holiday, so it's OK to tie one on on Sunday. We won't tell your boss.
