It may look small from the outside, but step inside the three-story Matchbox Vintage Pizza Bistro and you’ll experience a combination of classy dining along with classic American cuisine. Walk in (usually after a bit of a wait due to its popularity), grab a drink from the bar and then walk up stairs to find your seat and begin your dining experience.
With items from crab cakes to mini burgers, there is a wide variety of appetizers that are sure to get your meal off to the right start (I must recommend the mini burgers that come with a large pile of onion straws).
After enjoying the start to your meal, choose from a wide variety of entrées. Matchbox is known for its authentic wood-fired masonry oven, which churns out their famous pizzas. With 12 unique pizza choices, Matchbox offers a different take on an American classic. But if you’re not in the mood for pizza, Matchbox has seafood, sandwiches and vegetarian options. With plenty of options, Matchbox will meet anyone’s hunger needs!
Matchbox is open seven days a week at 11 a.m. and it is located at 713 H St. NW in Washington. If you are interested in checking out the menu for yourself or need any more information about Matchbox, visit their Web site at matchboxdc.com.
