It's Peanut Butter-Jelly Time… on Wheels

Why do we need this, again?

As though a popcorn truck and Korean tacos weren't random enough, we're about to get... a peanut butter and jelly truck.

Jason Martin and Joey Belcher (Rock and Roll Hotel, Sticky Rice, Dangerously Delicious Pies) are putting D.C.'s newest food truck to the streets soon, Prince of Petworth reports. And yes, of course it'll be called Peanut Butter Jelly Time.

"Bring back the days of play with a menu featuring Mom’s classic PB&J sandwich, signature PB&J’s, and the option to make it your own with a large variety of assorted nut butters, jellies, and add-ons (we mean bacon!)," a press release said in part.

Because why wouldn't a peanut butter and bacon sandwich be a good choice? Keep those pesky salad trucks away!

No word yet on when the newest addition to the District's food fleet will launch, but keep your eye on the situation via their Twitter, @PBJTruckDC, or follow all known D.C. food trucks here.

And remember, just because you can make it more easily and cheaply at home doesn't mean you have to. What's next, a ramen truck? No, wait, we probably have that already.
