New Farmer's Market Opens Up in SE

Eat fresh with D.C. CHEW

A new farmer’s market will be opening in Southeast this Saturday called D.C. CHEW, a clever little acronym that stands for “Community, Harvest, Education, Ward 7.”

Local vendors will be showcasing their tasty wares, like Aztec Kettle Korn of Maryland. Aztec Kettle Korn’s specialty is hand-popped, low fat and all natural popcorn. Besides a variety of fresh fruit, veggies and baked goods, the fair will also have chef demos. This week, they’ve got Scott Drewno from Wolfgang Puck’s The Source giving guests a glimpse into his cooking abilities at noon sharp.

The market will be at the Skyland Shopping Center ( intersection of Good Hope Road, Naylor Road and Alabama Avenue, SE). If you can’t make it out this weekend, fear not. They’ll be back on December 17th, just in time for you to stock up on holiday treats. 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
