500-Pound Inaugural Cheesecake Heads to D.C.

Eli’s Cheesecake Company has been invited to create a huge cheesecake to be served at the Commander in Chief Ball on Jan. 20.
The Chicago bakery will make a 500-pound cheesecake with an apple-flavored middle layer, reports the Wall Street Journal.
Ingredients include:100 pounds of cream cheese 30 pounds of sugar 25 pounds of sour cream 126 eggs 50 pounds of Michigan apples 30 pounds of butter
Eli's had a pan specialy designed for the cake, which bases measures 42 inches in diameter, according to the Journal.
Several large ovens at Eli’s will be used to bake the layers, which will be assembled once it gets to D.C.
The cake will be served to the 3,000 Purple Heart recipients and military families expected to attend the ball with any leftovers going to a D.C. foodbank, reports the Journal.
