DC Restaurant Week Kicks Off

This summer's D.C. Restaurant Week kicks off today, dishing up multi-course delights through at least Sunday, Aug. 21.

Dine out at a spot you've always been meaning to try, at a discounted price -- or swing by an old fave to enjoy their special Restaurant Week menu.

More than 200 restaurants across the area are participating, including 1789, Casa Nonna, El Centro and SAX. Three-course lunch deals are $20.11 per person, and three-course dinners are $35.11.

More than a dozen spots are also extending Restaurant Week into something more like Restaurant Half-a-Month. Ardeo+Bardeo, Casa Nonna, Zaytinya and more will offer the deal through Aug. 28.

A few words of caution: Remember that most places are usually much busier during Restaurant Week, so don't expect consistently quick and attentive service. You'll also probably feel happier about parting with your $35.11+ if you aim for one of the traditionally more pricy restaurants on the list.

If you need help trying to narrow down where you'd like to try, check out this map created by the Capital Spice Blog. They've gone ahead and put all those restaurants participating, and info on whether they're offering the deals for lunch, dinner or both.

You can also log onto OpenTable.com and go ahead and make your reservations now. Remember the most popular restaurants fill up quickly.
