Even Without Shutdown, Feds Will Get Free Burgers

In the shadow of a federal government shutdown last week, Tenleytown burger joint Z-Burger offered a ray of light to those worried about going to work this Monday.  The restuarant said if a shutdown took place, any federal worker could come in and get a free burger.

Well, a federal budget deal got done, but Z-Burger decided to hand out the freebies anyway.

On Monday, April 11, any federal worker who shows their I.D. badge can get a free single cheeseburger, veggie burger, turkey burger, or plain old hamburger.  The deal is good from 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m.

The restaurant is located at 4321 Wisconsin Avenue in northwest D.C.

"We know it has been a stressful time," said owner Peter Tabibian, "so we think a free burger is in order."
