Can't See the Forest for the Food?

New resto Cedar springs up in Penn Quarter

Can't See the Forest for the Food?
No word on whether wobbly little fawns will hang out with you while you wait for a table.

Upscale new dining spot Cedar has opened at 822 E St. N.W. (Oh, good, because Penn Quarter was really lacking pricy restaurants.)

Cedar, which comes from the owners of Dupont Circle's Front Page, is going for a "field and stream kind of thing," reports Washington Business Journal. Wood accents and wall-sized photos of forests may make you feel like you're camping in the woods, except for the fancy-schmancy entree in front of you.

The menu of hearty-yet-eclectic fare will change daily, focusing on goodies like wild king salmon and price-aged beef, plus seasonally inspired appetizers.

Cedar's Mikias reports that the resto Web site should be up today for all your menu-browsing needs.
