Vote for the 50 Most Beautiful … Hill Staffers?

Black suit and white shirt? Sooooo attractive

Look, we all understand that D.C. and L.A. have very little, if anything, in common. Hey, even all the TV shows that L.A. churns out about D.C. show a stunning lack of local knowledge. (Annapolis to Dulles Airport in 15 minutes? Seriously, "24"?) And when was the last time a politician ended up on the cover of People's 50 Most Beautiful People issue?

We make do with what we can here.

And so it's time once more for TheHill.com to conduct its pivotal study of their very own 50 Most Beautiful People list. Readers can vote for their two choices through July 24. But out of the 50? Yeah, you're actually only getting to see eight. Seems like these are the runners-up or what. (Yeouch.) The top two vote-getters will be a part of this year’s list.

But! Instead of those who actually have a vote on the floor, y'all can vote on congressional aides, campaign staffers and lobbyists. OK, it's not the same as checking a box for Michelle Obama's arms, but these folks are the "little people" you could actually end up sharing a beer with at Hawk and Dove, and that's OK too.

“I’m confident with the way I look, not cocky but confident,” said Alexandra Brunory, 24, an intern for Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (R-Mo.), to TheHill.com. “I don’t want to say I expect it, but it happens more here than it did back home. I actually get hit on by a lot of older men. It was surprising at first, but I kind of just take it in stride now.”

And TheHill.com calls it democracy in action. Fair enough.
