Redskins, Military Icons Due at Washington Auto Show

Redskins, Caps Players, Celeb Guests Expected

This year's Washington Auto Show kicked off last Friday, with visitors exploring 700+ new makes and models at the Washington Convention Center (801 Mt. Vernon  Place NW).

And unlike 2011, this year Snooki is not scheduled to appear!

Tuesday, Jan. 31 is Military Day -- active and retired military personnel are admitted free with a valid military ID or DD214 and photo ID. Veteran J.R. Martinez (2011 "Dancing With the Stars" winner), WWE star Sgt. Slaughter, the U.S. Army Downrange Band and the U.S.A. Cheerleaders will honor servicemembers with a "Welcome Home Troops" tribute.

The show, open through Sunday, Feb. 5, opens weekdays at noon and weekends at 10 a.m. See complete hours here. D.C.'s largest public expo is running twice as long this year, spanning 10 days. You can take the wheel in a Ride & Drive event, explore vendor booths, and enter contests and giveaways. Don't miss the lion and dragon dancers, who will celebrate the Chinese New Year at the show.

You'll also find a handful of local and international celebrity guests making appearances. On Monday, Jan. 30, Redskins players D'Angelo Hall and Lorenzo Alexander stopped by. On Wednesday, Feb. 1, WWE star Randy Orton will be making an appearance. Capitals players Brooks Laich and John Carlson will be on hand for Thursday, Feb. 2.

Admission is $12 for adults and $5 for kids.
