‘Real World' Casting Call Saturday

The Audition of a Lifetime

Nothing defines the real world better than speaking your mind, fighting over who slept with whom, and 25 seasons of good ol’ people-watching fun.

Okay, maybe there are better definitions out there, but with an open casting call in D.C., "The Real World" is whatever MTV wants it to be.

MTV’s longest running show is hosting an open casting call this Saturday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Town Tavern (2323 18th St. N.W.), where the show hopes to find its newest roommates.

“We look for characters from real life, people with strong personalities who are unafraid to speak their minds,” said Executive Producer Jonathan Murray.

The 26th season’s casting directors will be looking for applicants who live challenging lives, struggle with discrimination, have been affected by tragedy, follow non-mainstream belief systems, or are afflicted with an illness or handicap. If you don't fall into any of those categories, you'll still be considered, though.

The only requirement is that applicants must be over the age of 18 to apply, and appear to be between the ages of 18 and 24.

So young looking 30-year-olds, rejoice! You can be part of "The Real World," too.
