Get those costumes ready.
This Halloween Washingtonians are hitting the streets to do more than the average night of trick-or-treatin’. Lindy Promotions, in partnership with Miller Lite, is sponsoring its 9th Annual “Nightmare on M Street” Halloween event on Friday, October 31 from 6 pm to 2 am. With 15 participating bars offering $2 Miller Lites, $3 Miller Chill, $3.50 Sparks, $4 rail drinks plus Halloween food and drink specials, it’s no wonder participants are coming back for a ninth year. Bars this year include: Madhatter, Rumors, The Front Page, 4th Estate Grill, Recessions, Black Rooster Pub, Singapore Bistro, Porters, Penang, Ozio, The Bottom Line, McFaddens, Panache, Steve’s Bar Room, and James Hoban’s Irish Bar.
At midnight the real festivities begin with a costume contest at McFaddens hosted by DC Metromix so be sure to find those witch hats and broomsticks.
To join in on all the Halloween spirit, “Nightmare” tickets can be purchased online at lindypromo.com. Tickets start at $12, but increase as the event draws closer. On the night Halloween, tickets can be purchased for $20 at Rumors and The Front Page. With advance tickets, bar crawlers can register until 11 pm at James Hoban’s Irish Bar and The Front Page. Without a “Nightmare” wristband, each bar will have a $10 cover.
Last year over 6,200 people attended and just as many are expected at this year’s Halloween fest in midtown DC. In the first week of sales, already a record 300 tickets have been sold.
“This event has taken on a life of its own,” said Lindy Promotions President Dave Lindy. “We had no idea, 9 years ago, it could turn into this.” Prepare to be scared and check out this Halloween scene.
