New Primetime Soap “Georgetown” en Route

D.C. outsiders who can only name one District neighborhood are in luck -- ABC has ordered a new primetime soap, to be called "Georgetown," from “The OC” creator Josh Schwartz.

Formerly known as "The Inner Circle," the show will focus on "young people behind the power brokers of D.C.," according to the Hollywood Reporter.

(Wait a sec, wasn't that Dupont Circle's version of "The Real World"? No, wait, those kids were just here to spend the summer in a hot tub.)

The show comes from screenwriter Will Fetters, who also penned the Robert Pattinson flick "Remember Me" (2010) and 2012's  "The Lucky One," starring Zac Efron and Blythe Danner.

However, "Georgetown" doesn't quite have a bunch of promising predecessors. The Hollywood Reporter offers a rundown:

Last year, ABC aired a midseason series, The Deep End, that sounds similar in vein, focusing on the lives of young, aspiring lawyers that failed to click with viewers.

And back in 2009, the CW ordered a pilot centered on twentysomethings working in politics set in D.C. featuring a young (but seasoned) cast that did not move forward.

Regardless, we're sure there will be plenty to chat about once the show debuts -- after all, Washingtonians love to sink their teeth into on-screen inaccuraries.

Let's all reconvene in a few months to discuss how you could never have a car chase on the Beltway during rush hour.

We're sure the producers of "24" just loved that.
