Local Students Trick-or-Treat at the White House

Halloween at the White House

President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama hosted a trick-or-treat for local kids at the White House Saturday, according to the White House press office.

Halloween at the White House, will take place at the North Portico, which will be lit orange for the occassion. The Marine Band will play Halloween music, and actors from Washington-area theaters will be in costume, the White House said. Chantilly, Va.-based Veggy Art will provide carving demonstrations.  

The Obamas plan to provide the trick-or-treaters with White House M&Ms, White House Sweet Dough Butter Cookies, and a dried fruit mix, according to the White House.

Children from military families and the Boys and Girls Club of America also will be in attendance, the White House said.
