Icky, Sticky Fun

Hot sausages will be served too

Maple syrup lovers can see the sticky stuff being made and pour it on their pancakes this Sunday at Cunningham Falls State Park near Thurmont, Md.

And the weather is no match for the beckoning call of breakfast -- park officials confirmed at 8:30 Sunday morning that the event will still happen. But if you don't feel like breaking out the 'brella today, you'll still have another chance to eat your pancakes and hot sausages too. Demonstrations are planned again next weekend, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., March 20 and 21, at the park and at Swallow Falls and Herrington Manor state parks in far western Garrett County.

For those who venture out, there will be a roaring fire to warm yourself up by and live music in the lakeside pavilion, as well as free games, stories and crafts for the kids. Sweet.

There is a minimum donation required. Proceeds go to benefit the Friends of Cunningham Falls and Gambrill State Parks.
