Home Sweet Home for Wale

Rapper returns to D.C. for G.W. performance

Most college kids look forward to the school year for the chance to get away from home. This weekend, however, will be a homecoming of sorts on the George Washington University campus.

Rapper Wale will perform on Saturday in University Yard at GW, according to Yeas and Nays. He was born in the District in 1984 and graduated from Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg, Md. He later attended Robert Morris University and Virginia State University on football scholarships. He eventually transferred to Bowie State but dropped out.

Wale will not be alone during his concert. Travis McCoy from the band Gym Class Heroes will also perform. You may know him best for his hit single “Billionaire.”
