Chuck Brown Has Pneumonia, Daughter Says

Singer's rep shot down rumors of his death on May 2

The mystery of what's going on with the Godfather of Go-Go seems to have been solved, the Washington Post reports.

Chuck Brown has pneumonia and has been hospitalized for the past two months, his daughter, K.K. Brown, told the Post. "He is in the hospital, he is recovering and people need to just keep praying for him," she said, according to the paper.

Brown had to postpone a performance at the new Howard Theatre in late April due to the illness, although no reason was given at the time for the hospitalization.

A few days after that, Twitter users had starting buzzing that Chuck Brown had died. Those rumors were shot down by the singer's rep, Tom Goldfogle.

Brown's Howard show has been moved to June 29, and it's already sold out -- but, as the Post notes, his website lists no upcoming concert dates.

A message there reads: "Mr. Brown's tour schedule is temporarily unavailable pending his recovery from a recent illness. When his schedule resumes, it will be posted here."
