Feeling Lucky? Try Catsino Night

Take a gamble for a worthy cause

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is inviting everyone to help homeless and neglected animals at their Catsino Night and Silent Auction Gala on Saturday.

More than 200 animal lovers raised more than $39,000 at the last gala, and the AWLA is hoping to beat that mark.

The fundraiser kicks off at 7 p.m. in the historic lobby in Terminal A at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, which was offered up as a location by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Gamblers can choose from their favorite casino-style games, including blackjack, roulette, craps and Texas Hold’em. The event will have live music with a dance floor by the Bobcats, where guests can sip on martinis and sample an assortment of hors d’oeuvres.

Silent auctions will be held throughout the night for a variety of prizes that sponsors have donated. Sponsors include Starbucks, the Washington Redskins, Hyatt Hotel, Five Guys, The American Shakespeare Center, the Washington Wizards and more.

Tickets are still on sale for $100 per person or $180 per couple.  All proceeds will go to year-round care for homeless animals.
