"Open bar" and "boat" never seem like a wise combination, but we can't keep Torpedo Factory Art Center down. The studio/gallery is going out to sea (OK, out to river) for its second annual Open Bar Boat Cruise.
Board a double-decker boat -- hope that's not a bad omen -- on Friday at 9 p.m. for a three-hour cruise. Which, by the way, was the exact length of time that Giligan & co. were supposed to be gone.
Feast yourself on an open bar, heavy appetizers (shrimp cocktail, meats and cheeses, wraps) and oh yeah, did we mention the open bar?
A DJ will be spinning as you take in the DC skyline from the Potomac (which will probably be a lot more enjoyable than that time you rented the Paddle Boat and splashed around the Tidal Basin algae).
And hey, Mr. Fancy Pants -- cocktail attire is required.
The cruise will leave at 9 p.m. from the marina near the Torpedo Factory (105 N. Union St., Alexandria, VA). Party people should arrive by 8:30, and remember to make a reservation first. Tix are $55.
