Riverfront Reel Movie Series
Last year, this movie series was all about baseball. Considering the way things are turning out this year for the Nats, we're glad they've switched the focus to '80s flicks. Free movies air Thursdays at sundown (around 8:45 p.m. right now) at Tingey Plaza (100 Tingey St. SE).

Caribbean Film Showcase at AFI Silver Theatre
Fri., June 6: The opening night reception kicks off at 6:30 p.m., followed by a screening of the Marley family travelogue/concert documentary "AFRICA UNITE" at 7:30 p.m. $15.
Up afterward: Billed as both the original midnight movie and Jamaica's first feature-length film, "The Harder They Come" brought Jamaican music to the forefront of cultural consciousness in the early 1970s. Celebrate the 35th anniversary by catching it on the big screen either Friday at 9:45 p.m. or (technically) Saturday at midnight.
