Hirshhorn Hosts Last ‘After Hours' Event of Year

Last After Hours program features Dan Deacon

A local from the Baltimore area, Dan Deacon is bringing his electronic pop beats to the Smithsonian.

On Friday, grab tickets for the last After Hours program of the year at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Starting at 8 p.m., the evening begins with a gallery talk with artist Terence Gower about his new project on the third floor.

Dan Deacon begins his performance at 9 p.m. Deacon is a member of Wham City, an art collective in Baltimore, Maryland. The party continues with DJ Gavin Holland of the local dance party Nouveau Riche until midnight.

With an After Hour ticket, join Associate Curator Evelyn Hankins at 10 p.m. on her tour of the Panza Collection, a collection of thirty-nine works by important artists from the 1960s and 70s recently acquired by the Hirshhorn. The exhibition opened Oct. 23 and runs until Jan. 11. 

All advance tickets are sold out but you can grab one at the door for $12. The Hirshhorn is located on Independence Avenue at Seventh Street SW.
