Naughty Korean School Girls and the Smithsonian

Korean Film Fest bares it all

Is it just us, or does the District really make with the film fests in the spring? The Korean Film Festival brings flicks from South Korea to the AFI Silver Theatre (8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring), the Freer Gallery (Independence Avenue at 12th Street S.W.) and the National Museum of Women in the Arts Theater (1250 New York Ave. N.W.). You'll be able to catch new films as well as past faves, plus a tribute to director Lee Chang-dong.

The fest kicks off on Saturday and runs all the way 'til April 27, so this is probably a procrastinator's dream. This Saturday night's feature is -- well, would it be wrong to call it the Korean version of "High School Musical"? Actually, yeah, probably. "Dasepo Naughty Girls" somehow incorporates a yodeling routine and sex jokes. April 11's feature is called "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK." All right, then, count us in.

You can get the full schedule here.

Official Web site disclaimer: "All films are 35mm and in Korean with English subtitles unless otherwise noted."
