More than Just a One-Act

Emerging Voices Playwriting Competition Performances:

Lincoln Theatre is holding "an evening of new visions, new voices" tonight as they present the winners of their 1st Annual Emerging Voices Playwriting Competition. Judges graded the submissions on concept, dramatic action, characterization and dialogue, and chose five winners from young local playwrights. Under the direction of Eric Ruffin, a cast of professional actors will perform the five winners' original one-act plays.

The winning plays and playwrights include "Maybe" by Michael Merino, "Line Two is for You" by Sharon E. Moore, "Bread" by Randy Gross, "Moral Support" by Dean Poyner, and "Firefly" by Amanda F. Healy.

The event is free, but reservations are required. Call 202-328-6000 to reach the Lincoln Theatre Box Office.
