For those hoping to have another music venue to catch live shows, the wait shouldn't be a whole lot longer.
A Montgomery County spokesperson said Monday that the new Silver Spring music hall will be arriving soon, the Silver Spring Penguin reported.
“We’ve exchanged a few final draft contracts with developers, and we’re still in negotiations,” Diane Schwartz-Jones, assistant chief administrative officer for county executive Ike Leggett, told the council’s economic development committee. “We’re working diligently on it.”
She did not release more details because of the on-going negotiations to construct the Live Nation managed, 2,000-seat venue on Collesville Road, according to the Penguin.
However, Swartz-Jones did say that negotiations would end soon, and the developer would then be named.
According to the county’s lease with Live Nation, the facility must be ready to roll by July 2010, reported the Penguin.
