EU Open House: Beer, Bratwurst, Legos and More

And don't forget the whiskey

There's no need to hop on a plane to sample some of Europe's greatest exports.  Just get over to the EU Open House on Embassy Row, where over twenty embassies are opening their doors today for events, food, drinks and more.

Highlights of this year's "Shortcut to Europe" include a MacAllan whiskey tasting at the British Embassy, and a performance by Czech band Ondráš (plus plenty of Czech beer to taste) at the Embassy of the Czech Republic, according to DCist

Germany will offer bratwurst, pretzels, and a moonbounce, all to the tune of traditional German folk music, while Denmark will introduce you to the "Happiest People on Earth," let you sample Danish food, play with Legos, or test your bicycle skills, The Georgetown Voice reports.

Embassies of the following countries will participate: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

No registration is needed, but don't forget your ID as all embassies will be making security checks.

The annual behind-the-scenes look at Washington's European Embassies runs until 4 p.m.
