D.C. Kids Show What a Dog's Life's Really Like

What can be better than cute kids and cute animals?  How about cute kids taking pictures of cute animals?

The Washington Animal Rescue League presents "A Day in the Life of a Shelter," an exhibit of photographs by 15 fifth-grade students that marks the end of "Be Kind to Animals Week."

The free exhibit, which is one of the League's education projects to promote empathy and responsibility in kids, will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Rayburn House Office Building.  A reception will be held at 4:30 p.m.   More than 100 photos will be on display.

Student photographer Shelby Smith said she hopes that her photographs will "help people to see that animals are special and should be treated with love."

Can't disagree with that.
